FAME THEATRE COMPANY

In 1982 Ken Kennett created the Westfield Super Juniors, a group of talented youngsters employed to promote Westfield Shopping centres.  From these beginings the Fame Talent Agency was later created in 1984, with two schools for primary school aged students.  These schools were developed to train children in performing arts.

In the first year Fame attracted 30 students. By 2010 Fame has grown to sixteen training schools for Teeny Famers (3 to 4 year olds),Young Famers (5 to 7 year olds), Juniors (primary school age), and Seniors (high school age and older), with a total enrolment of over 600 students.

Fame Theatre Company offers tutoring in three major disciplines of the performing arts, namely Singing, Dancing and Acting and has been seen throughout Queensland and New South Wales performing in all types of promotions, presentations and theatre musicals.

Fame Theatre Company delivers quality training programs to children aged 3-17 years throughout greater Brisbane. Our performance based programs include training in dance, drama, and voice.

We  encourage students to develop skills in all these key areas. Our courses are fun, innovative and provide excellent grounding to students interested in the performing arts.

Fame has its own theatre facility, centrally located at Albion, a well established hub for many successful musical theatre, pantomime, and concert projects. It is our priority to ensure that your children are receiving every opportunity to perform in front of appreciative audiences.

BRISBANE ARTS THEATRE

Brisbane Arts Theatre is an iconic independent theatre company. We produce engrossing, high quality, accessible theatre. We educate emerging Brisbane artists and future industry professionals. Our people inspire our fun, creative and innovative culture.

Established in 1936, our 80-year-old theatre company has been the city's gateway theatre for decades. Our key goal to provide accessible theatre for Brisbane audiences has translated to accessibility in price, accessibility in the types of productions we stage and accessibility through the welcoming and intimate atmosphere at our iconic 50-year-old venue on Petrie Terrace.

Throughout our history, Brisbane Arts Theatre has served as the gateway to performing arts careers, not just for those on stage, but also for those behind the scenes. The list of legends of stage and screen who began their journey on the Arts Theatre's stage is vast. Shane Porteous, Russell Dykstra, Kate Foy, Jennifer Flowers, Anna McGahan, Lucas Stibbard and the late and dearly missed Carol Burns are just some of the household names, while an extraordinary number of technicians have gone onto professional careers in lighting, sound and set design.

In 2017, our theatre company will produce four seasons: a diverse mainhouse season, a season of our iconic children's theatre, a touring season and a special early-week parody season. The theatre company owns the performance complex on Petrie Terrace.

We also offer nationally recognised, fully accredited training in theatre technical operations, in addition to structured acting workshops for both adults and youth. The Arts Theatre has been a training ground for many performers who have gone on to professional careers, including Jennifer Flowers, Carol Burns, Shane Porteous, Bernard King and many others.
