SHARE HOUSE THEATRE COMPANY PRESENT -
'JANE AND KEL GO TO HELL'
"JANE AND KEL GO TO HELL, a play by young Brisbane writer, Steve Pirie (Escape From Break-up Forest, Return to the Dirt), is making its debut at Metro Arts Lumen Room. Co-directed by Pirie and Maddie Nixon, this coming-of-age comedy is what Broad City and Stranger Things would look like, wrapped up together with Dante’s Inferno.
Share House Theatre Company is offering $24 tickets for students and an opportunity to meet the artists and creatives in the bar afterwards on Friday the 6th.
What's is all about?
Jane and Kel are housemates, drinking mates and best mates with bad jobs and bad judgement. After Jane loses her job writing for a youth media blog she needs to save money, and so it becomes time for someone to move into the sunroom. After a string of interviews, Roy seems like the clear choice. He’s quiet, non-judgemental and barely around. He’s perfect.
But after moving in, the honeymoon period fades for Kel. Roy only has one song on his phone that he listens to constantly. He stands completely still for hours at a time. Jane loves having him around, but Kel is convinced something isn’t right. Jane quite literally can’t afford to lose him. And besides, it’s not like he’s a demon or anything.
Except that he is. And he’s dragged Jane to Hell.
Now, it’s up to Kel to find her way into the underworld before Jane’s soul is lost forever – and before the next house inspection.
Warning production contains coarse language, strobe effect and demons."
Cast includes Kayla Robertson, Emma Black, Daniel Simpson, Ben Warren and Lara Rix.
Poster design credit for Luke Beaverson.
